Cost effective because:
RemovALL™ 120 has been proven to effectively etch green and mature concrete and masonry. The depth of etching achieved with RemovALL™ 120 is the same as that of hydrochloric or muriatic acid.
The residue is easily removed by water rinsing. This product is suitable for treating vertical and horizontal surfaces.
Some applications include:
This product is engineered for brush or roller application. Other equipment: brushes, rollers, scraper, masking tape, polyethene sheet, pressure washer, empty pails for clean-up, running water, rags.
Ensure that all areas not to be etched are suitably protected.
Ensure that all areas to be etched are clean, dry and free of oil and grease.
Surface temperatures should be in the range of 68 to 89°F (20 to 32°C). The product performs effectively at lower temperatures (even at 32°F / 0°C) but the dwell time increases.
Conduct a small test on an inconspicuous area to ensure product performance.
This will indicate the time required for project completion and suitability of product for the substrate.
Pour product on area to be etched and spread using a nylon brush or roller or rag. Allow to dwell for 15 minutes.
Re-roll or agitate with a stiff nylon brush and allow to dwell for another 15 minutes. Most concrete will be etched within 30 minutes of exposure.
Rinse the product off as soon as an adequate etch has been achieved. As with any etching compound, it is advisable to check the pH of the substrate before re-coating to ensure that it is compatible with the new coating system to be applied.
The time required to etch the concrete depends on the type and age of the concrete. Most concrete will be etched within 15 to 30 minutes.
Rinse the product off as soon as an adequate etch has been achieved. If you want a deeper etch, apply fresh product and allow another 15 minutes of contact time. Repeat if additional etch is required.
Depending on the substrate, the coverage rate normally falls between 150 to 250 sq.ft. per US Gallon (14 to 23 sq.m./3.8L).
Ambient and surface temperatures should be in the range of 68 to 89°F (20 to 32°C).
The product performs effectively at lower temperatures - even at 32°F (0°C) but the dwell time increases.
As with any etching compound, it is advisable to check the pH of the substrate before re-coating to ensure that it is compatible with the new coating system to be applied.
Proper safety procedures should be followed at all times while handling the product. Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles.
Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet for important health and safety information before use.
Be sure to use generous amounts of water.
For small areas, removal of residue can be completed by wiping with a dry cotton cloth, followed by a generous water rinse. For larger areas, best results are achieved using a pressure washer.
It is important to remove all loosened concrete residue in the rinsing process. You can use a wet vacuum to remove the excess water to allow concrete to dry faster.
RemovALL™ 120 will remove rust on paint but will not affect the painted surface.
